Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 5: Detonator Jack – Suited by the solid tempo, overpowering the field late. Looks ideally suited to the Lord Stakes back here on Boxing Day over 1700m.

Race 8: Riot and Rose – Went back from the wide barrier before running home strongly, recording the second-fastest last 400m of the day. Ready now, third-up next start over 1600m from a good draw where he can settle handier.

Race 9: Sigh – Terrific run first up, flashing home in the fastest last 800m and 600m of the day before being eased up late. Can certainly win again in similar class.

Caulfield: Nov 26

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 3: Rose Quartz – Had to go back before unleashing the best sectionals of the day. Just needs a dry track. Loves the Flemington straight, could be a good chance in the Standish on New Years Day if she heads that way.

Race 6: Grandslam – Took a trail behind the leaders. Held up several times in the straight, not allowing him to build momentum. Third-up next start at 2000m… this is normally his peak performance. Look for with that setup.

Race 8: Kings Consort and Shuriken – Both hit the line hard off a moderate pace. Maybe one more run at 1600m in a solidly-run race, then I’d like to see them both over 2000m from good draws where they can settle handier.

Race 9: Toregene – Good effort sitting outside the leader in a solidly-run race, then fought on really well in the straight. With a similar trip next start from a good draw she can go to a new level.

Race 9: Deny Knowledge – Good effort leading on this day and holding on well. Eligible for a easier races. Back in class and similar trip suits next start.

Cranbourne: Nov 12

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 6: Victory Bay – Hit the line from well back and is going well. I’d like to see him back in class, at a similar distance range, from a better draw where he can settle handier in the run.

Flemington: Nov 5

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 7: Tuvalu – Love this horse. Races on the pace and gives his all every time. Assumes he goes for a break now. Will be something to bet on in the early autumn WFA races at 1400m and beyond, where he can dictate in front against resuming stayers.

Race 7: Aegon – Really hit the line well, might be looking for further now. Can pick up a race this prep.

Flemington: Nov 1 (Cup Day)

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: White Marlin – Super impressive, walked in. Lightly raced and can go forward in the run. Both are great assets. The top staying races in the Autumn look well within his grasp.

Race 7: Emissary – Terrific running on well to settle second. Ducked in late which cost it finishing a little closer. Definitely better on dry tracks, can win a big staying race in the autumn.

Race 8: Detonator Jack – Terrific return, ran the seventh-fastest last 200m of the day on a deteriorating track. In for a great prep, can keep winning.

Flemington: Oct 29 (Derby Day)

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 1: Perfect Thought – Don’t really know the horse and it was big odds, but was very impressive. Ran fast time . If he can hold this rating then a race like the Sandown Guineas in a few weeks wouldn’t be out of the question.

Moonee Valley: Oct 22

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 5: Queen Air  – Settled at the tail before rattling home late. Ran the 11th-fastest last 200m of the day. Eligible for a maiden, like to see in easier class up to 1800m next start.

Race 8: Francesco Guardi – Travelled well off the good pace, tracked up at the 600m then went to line strongly to win easily. Not entered for the Cup but would be hard to beat in any other staying race he enters over the carnival.

Caulfield: Oct 15

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: The Duke of Dubai – Ran on well from the back. Improving type. Like to see over 2000m in a lower Benchmark.

Caulfield: Oct 8

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 4: Niccolini Vito  – Caught wide before running home well over 1200m off a short break. Ready to run well at 1400m next start.

Race 5: Makram – Just had to come a bit too wide on the corner before running home strongly. Can run to a new level next start at this distance range. Hard to beat in any of the country Cups.

Race 5: Sheraz – Held up in the straight before running home nicely late.  Can run to a new level next start in this distance range. Hard to beat in any of the country Cups.

Race 10: Paul’s Regret – Had to go back from the wide barrier before running home in the 3rd / 2nd / 3rd fastest last 600m / 400m / 200m of the day. Like to see her draw a barrier, step up to 1400m and maybe back a little in class.

Flemington: Oct 1

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 7: Smokin’ Romans  – Ran a career peak, albeit in a slowly run race. Has a perfect prep leading into the Caulfield Cup, drops in weight and settles on the pace. The one to beat.

Race 8: Private Eye – Returned in devastating form. Time for the race was fast and he ran terrific sectionals home. Can win anywhere he goes over the next couple of runs.

Sandown: Sept 25

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 1: Cap De Joie – Terrific effort running on from last in a moderately-run race. Rattled home in the fastest last 600m / 400m / 200m of the day. Handles all surfaces. Can win a nice mares race over 1600m during the spring.

Race 3: Aesop – Walked in off a nice tempo. Eased down late. Looks to still be on the up. Keen to follow over 2000m next start .Maybe the Coongy at Caulfield?

Race 4: Elliptical – Had to go back from the wide barrier before running home in the second-fastest last 400m / 200m of the day. Can win a lower grade Group or Listed 1600m race over the spring.

Moonee Valley: Sept 23

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 4: Virtuous Circle – Settled back off a solid tempo before running home strongly late. Looks suited out in trip. Next start over 2000m would be ideal for a natural step in his ratings.

Caulfield: Sept 17

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 1: Global Gift – Good effort up on the speed in a solidly-run race . Was having first run at this trip since arriving in Australia. Can now step off this run next start at a similar trip. Prefer with a positive jockey change.

Race 7: Tuvalu – Super effort on the pace. Had pressure mid-race before fighting hard to the line. He was the best of the on-pacers. Hopefully finds a race where he is the sole leader in anything up to 1600m.

Flemington: Sept 10

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: Makram – Was off 35 days. He produced the fastest 600 – 400m split of the day before slowing down late. Happy to put the slow-ish last 200m down to fitness. Think he has another level in him. Big track horse. Look for in another handicap at around 2000m.

Race 4: Pinstriped – Got back in a moderately-run race before rattling home running the fastest last 600m / 400m / 200m of the day. In for a good prep, can get to best next start at 1600m.

Moonee Valley: Sept 3

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 1: Major Beel – Beaten for pace in the fast early tempo. Hit a flat spot 600m out and was shuffled out of it before running on strongly in the straight. Ran the fastest last 200m of the race. Look for in a handicap race 1600m to 1800m where he can find the lead.

Race 2: Harmysian – Got back on a savagely biased track. Ran the best last 200m of the race running on the inferior ground. Going well, can run to best at 2000m-ish next start.

Race 3: Meridius – Settled midfield and had to come wide from the 450m which was a negative. Really savaged the line when able to balance up in the straight. Ran the fifth-fastest last 100m of the day. Look for in the same class next start over 1200m.

Race 6: I’mlovin’ya – Held up at a vital stage then hit the line well late. Ready to run to a new level over 1400m next start.

Race 6: Revolutionary Miss – Ran on well against the bias. Should be fully fit third-up and ready to run to a new peak. Prefer at 1200m.

Race 7: Enchanted Heart – Made good ground against the bias. Look for at same trip and class next start. Handles wet tracks.

Caulfiled: Aug 27

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: Groovy Kinda Love – Had the blinkers off and had no early pace, settling a long last. Tacked on late running the third-fastest last 200m of the day. Good record second-up. Look for second-up at 1600m with a senior jock back on.

Race 4: I Wish I Win – Sat midfield off a genuine tempo. Tracked forward from the 600m, rounding them up easily and winning pulling up. Ran the 9th / 5th / 7th last 800m / 600m / 400m before easing down late and running the 15th-fastest last 200m of the day. Looks a genuine G1 horse – the Toorak a possibility.

Race 4: Gentleman Roy – Got no peace in front, being pressured by Buffalo River, who finished well back. Good on-pacer who can run to best next start. Ideal horse for the Crystal Mile on Cox Plate Day.

Race 8: I’m Thunderstruck – Looks to have come back a better horse. Closed hard with the 2nd / 3rd / 5th best last 600m / 400m / 200m of the day, despite laying in slightly in the straight. Can go to a new level next start over 1600m.

Moonee Valley: Aug 20

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 9: Sacred Palace –  Got back from a wide barrier before running home in the fastest last 200m of the day. Needs a wet ground, 1200m and a better draw where he can settle handier in the run.

Caulfield: Aug 13

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 4: I Am Bene – Got well back and was held up approaching the corner. Unleashed a big close to win softly on the line. Has a big close and can win a better class race where the early speed is on.

Race 5: Giga Kick – Sat back off an even tempo before running the fastest last 800m / 600m / 400m / 200m of the day. Can get out to 1400m.

Race 8: Uncle Bryn – Got back and worked home well .He was the fastest between the 400m and 200m of the race. Looking for 1600m – 1700m next start. Needs a race of genuine speed early.

Race 9: Unanimous – Did his best work late without being knocked, around running the second-fastest last 200m of the race. Ready now third-up at 1400m in restricted class . Can run to best with that setup.

Flemington: Aug 6

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 3: Veranskova – Strong performance coming from off the pace. Ran the fastest last 600m / 400m / 200m of the day. Soft late. Looks to have another level in her. Bobbie Lewis next start?

Race 4: Blue Cup – Was good getting narrowly beaten, but thought he floated a bit late. I’d like to see him blinkers and think he could then go to a new level.

Moonee Valley: July 30

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: Alpha One – Pretty obvious one, but he has early pace, railed well here at Moonee Valley and ran the second-fastest last 600m and the fastest last 200m of the day. Can win again in 3YO class.

Race 9: Diamonds Inthe Sky – Missed the start before running the fastest last 200m of the day. Fully fit and ready to run to her best. Prefer with a senior jockey on.

Caulfield: July 23

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: Berkeley Square – Got inside and looked a little uncomfortable on the tightish track. Finally in the clear late in the straight, running third-fastest last 600m of the day, fastest last 400 metres of the day and fourth-fastest last 200m of the day off an interrupted run. Look for in coming runs over 1600m – 2000m on a big track such as Flemington or Sandown.

Flemington: July 16

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: Freedom Escape – Got back from a wide barrier. Ran fastest last 400m and last 200m of the race, and 15th fastest last 200m of the day. Ready for 2000m now. Like it to draw a barrier where he can settle handier in the run.

Race 7: High Emocean – Returned with a solid effort hitting the line well. 2nd / 1st / 2nd fastest last 600m / 400m / 200m of the race. In for a good prep. One more run then ready third-up in the 2400m distance range.

Race 9: Nicolini Vito – Returned in peak form and powered to the line over the last 200m. Run the second-fastest last 600m, 400m and 200m of the day. In for a good prep, can win a good race this spring at 1400m – 1600m.

Flemington: July 2

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 6: Horrifying – Good two starts back when found the lead mid-race. Terrific today after working wide to find the front again. Can win in similar class again if he can draw better so he doesn’t have to work as hard early.

Race 8: Lunar Flare – Hit the line hard, running the fastest last 400m of the day. Maybe one more run until he peaks, then watch for him up to 2000m third-up.

Caulfield: June 25

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 1: Chain Of Lightning – Led and walked in on her first start for Moody. Ran one second faster than the BM84 class horses. Can win next time anywhere in fillies / mares class.

Race 3: Belsielle – Ran on well from the back. Suited by the wet track. Wants wet track and 1200m – 1300m next start, with a better draw so that she can settle a little handier in the run.

Race 5: Blue Cup – Ran on well late, recording the third-best last 400m and last 200m of the race behind the first two placegetters. Has good form overseas around 2000m. Look for at the trip in his next couple of runs.

Race 6: Inundation – Sat on an even pace before unleashing a terrific turn of foot from inside the 300m to around the 100m. Benchmark splits and raw sectional times won’t do justice to the performance as he was in second gear for parts of the last two sectionals. Group class sprinter.

Caulfield: June 18

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 5: Passive Aggressive – Reminds me of Marabi. Can definitely win a high grade race in the spring. The G1 Manikato may suit if the program fits in.

Race 5: Star Patrol – Like to see next prep, out to 1400m around a circle. Group 1 1400m at Caulfield looks ideal.

Race 8: Tuvalu – Finally lived up to his potential, running a new peak figure. Can definitely win again this prep.

Race 8: Visinari – Was on the back-up… still ran to his figure in defeat. Goes to the Winter Champs Final here in two weeks. Will be the horse to beat unless Tuvalu goes as well.

Sandown: June 11

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 3: Moscow Red – Strong through the line in the wet. Ran a new peak but can hold that rating if gets a similar set-up next start within two weeks.

Race 5: My Yankee Girl – Went back to last and rounded them up easily, running a new peak. Love to see on similar ground, 1400m-ish and maybe in a fillies  and mares race where she will stay down in the weights.

Race 6: Mimi’s Award – Made good ground, running the third-fastest 400m – 200m of the race, then the fastest last 200m of the race. Has run well in the ground before. Looking for her same distance range on a wet track – she can improve to her previous best form.

Race 9: Mankayan – Was second-up here off a genuine tempo. Looked to stroll through the ground from the 650m to hit the lead early in the straight before pulling away and being eased down on the line. Improved off first-up run. Can definitely improve again next start, up in trip in slightly similar conditions. Can go to a new level this prep (his second Aust prep).

Flemington: June 4

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 1: Maserartie Bay – Sat on pace before taking over at the 300m mark. Was eased down late .Can win at this distance range again in similar class.

Race 8: Mystery Shot – Ran on terrifically from well back, running the second-best splits of the race behind the winner. Wet track no concern .Can win up to 1600m next start. Just needs to draw a barrier to enable him to settle handier.

Race 9: Passive Aggressive – Undefeated filly. Did all the running here before being eased down late. Still on the up.

Race 9: Squid Game – Improved dramatically off his first-up run. Got back here before running the fastest last 800m 600m / 400m / 200m of the day. Ready to run to a new peak if he can settle handier from a good draw.

Caulfield: May 28

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 4: Winning Verse – Crossed from the outside barrier to lead in faster than standard time for the class, then was able to run home all splits over the last 600m faster than the class par. It was her first start this way of going. Hard to beat in any class this way of going.

Race 6: Ocular – Had to go back from a wide barrier. Ran the fastest last 200m of the day. Look for in similar class where he can settle handier in the run from a better draw.

Flemington: May 21

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 4: Kir Royale – Good effort racing on pace. Eased down late, can win again this distance range, especially if on a track that suits on pace. Needs a dry track though.

Flemington: May 14

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 4: Adele Amour – Improved dramatically when the blinkers went on three runs ago, then may not have run a strong 1600m last start. Back to 1400 here, was terrific last 200m, strong through the line. Can win again in similar class .

Race 8: Biometric – Going well since the blinkers went on three starts ago. Just keeps drawing wide and has to go well back. Looking for it in a race over 1400m where he can draw better.

Caulfield: April 23

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 4: Grandslam – Ran along at own tempo and returned the fastest splits of the race at 600 – 400 and 400 – 200. Looks perfectly suited to the Warrnambool Cup next start as long as the track isn’t too wet.

Race 9: Extreme Warrior – Not one I’m looking to back… but one I’m looking to oppose. On a Group 1 path evidently, but needs to improve dramatically off this run. He went out slower than Midwest and came home slower. He didn’t run any of the race splits the fastest for the race, he was entitled to do. Will be looking to oppose it next start.

Caulfield: April 16

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: Clemenceau – Sat off an even speed before unleashing the second best last 600m and 400m of the day and the third best last 200m of the day. Won pulling up. Can easily win up to Group 3 level at next couple of starts.

Race 2: Little Stevie – Ran well from the back. Going really well at the moment. Look for in the same class with a better draw where he can settle handier to the speed.

Race 5: Najmaty – Returned with a new peak here. Went out slightly slower than Clemenceau but came off slightly faster. If she can hold this rating she’ll win a nice race.

Race 5: Beneficio – Good effort on the pace. Should be able to win if comes back in class and finds an on-pace track.

Race 6: Chassis – Got a long way back, was in traffic in the early part of the straight before hitting the line hard, running the best last 200m of the race. Ready now to win.

Caulfield: April 9

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 6: Magic Max – Pretty obvious good thing beaten, no doubt he should have won easily. Ran the second-fastest last 800 / 600 / 400 of the day being held up, before running the fastest L200 of the day when finally in the clear. Look for a jockey change next time.

Race 7: Adele Amour and Blistering – Both sat back in a solidly run race before running on strongly in the straight. Time was much faster than the BM78 race which Paperboy won. They probably don’t have to hold their rating here to still be competitive in a race of similar class and trip next time.

Race 8: Ain’tnodeeldun – Probably needed that run second-up off a long layoff. Was solid in the market. Was solid to the line. Should be ready to peak next start. 1800 – 2000m.

Bendigo: April 2

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 2: Vitruvius – Resuming. Ran on very strongly closing with the fastest last 200m of the day. In for a good prep. Suited up to 2000m this prep.

Mornington: March 26

Flemington: March 12

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 5: So You See – Pretty obvious one in that she was held up in the straight. She still ran the third-fastest last 600m and last 200m of the day according to Puntingform. Produced a high rating and looks to still be on the up. Bred to get a lot further. Looks ideally suited to the 3YO staying trips coming up interstate.

Race 8: Kissonallfourcheeks – Another obvious one. Sat midfield off a moderate tempo, strolled into the race on the corner before unleashing a terrific turn of foot running the fast last 600m, last 400m and last 200 of the day according to Puntingform. To the eye she was doing it effortlessly. Will be competitive in anything she runs in going forward.

Race 9: Daisies and Commander Harry – Both staying types. Both were strong late without much room in the straight. Will be hard to beat in any staying races going forward.

Flemington: March 5

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 3: Bermadez – Resumed off a short break. Sat back in a moderate tempo before growing wings over the last 150m. Ran the 8th fastest last 400m and last 200m according to Puntingform. Versatile horse who can settle back or on the pace. Looks ideally suited at 1400m next start, up in grade.

Race 4: Annavisto – Resumed with a new peak on my ratings. Flies early in the prep. Can hold rating in a similar race with Kah staying on.

Race 9: Yonce – Sat midfield off a genuine tempo before getting clear in the straight and powering away. Genuine G1 horse in anything from 1600m to 2000m.

Caulfield: February 26

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 8: Oxley Road – Beaten for pace settling midfield and wide. Worked home well, running home the third-best last 600m, albeit well held by the winner. Doubt he is a “true” G1 type but he can pick up lesser grade sprints along the way this prep. Has the ability to sit up on the pace.

Flemington: February 19

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 3: Yonce – Undefeated mare with a staying pedigree. Can continue to win as she rises in trip.

Race 3: Groovy Kinda Love – Terrific effort running on hard off an interrupted run in transit. Can improve again next start at a similar trip.

Race 6: Pinstriped – Sat midfield off strong tempo, got to the outside in the straight as leader kicked. Really chased hard to win going away. Still on the up.

Race 6: Captivant – Got home strong… was the fastest in the race from the 400m to 200m mark before peaking on his run the last 100m. Had to carry the penalty here. Will improve again next start.

Caulfield: February 12

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 5: Asfoora – Terrific effort in fast-run race. Race was run 7.1 lengths quicker than the class par according to Puntingform. She was the only horse that settled in the first five in the run to stick on. Look for in a similar race where she can get an easier run in front.

Race 7: Extreme Flight – Sat back off a moderate tempo before hitting the line hard, running the second-quickest splits of the day. Has come back super. Look for over 1400m against the fillies.

Race 8: Inspirational Girl – Got back and finished off running the quickest 400-200m and last 200m of the race .Returned well . Look for over 1600m from a better draw.

Race 7: Desert Icon – Raced on pace before powering away in the straight. Was eased down late. Can go up in class over 2000m next start and improve again.

Moonee Valley: January 29

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 5: Pinstriped – Sat back off a moderate tempo before coming wide and running the fourth-fastest last 400m and sixth-fastest last 200m of the day. Both wins have been on the wet, but does look a progressive type who can get further.

Race 7: Marabi – Pretty obvious one, but she continues to improve her rating. Sits on the speed and then can kick which is a huge asset. Can win a Group 1.

Race 7: Sinawann – Missed the start which he won’t want to make a habit of, but came wide and ran the sixth-fastest last 200m of the day . Can step next start out to 1400m.

Moonee Valley: January 22

Melbourne Racing Results: Trev’s Blackbookers

Race 1: Unflinching – Bombproof filly who can race on the pace and kick with a good turn of foot. Still on the up. Can win in better company.
