The Longshots Report is your guide to high-priced golfers that can earn us profits in some of the less popular markets without winning the Tournament – First Round Leader, Top 10, 20, Make Cut etc

Last week at the FedEx St Jude Championship we did well to get 4 of our 5 longshots through to the weekend. Unfortunately 31st was the best result we could muster. Onto this week…

It’s Part 2 of the season-ending Playoffs with the Top 70 in the standings heading to Wilmington, Delaware for the BMW Championship.

They will be hoping to make it into the Top 30 in order to qualify for the next week’s Tour Championship where the winner will take home a massive haul of US$18m.

You can also check out the Golf Insider’s full preview for the tournament right here.

Here’s our BMW Championship Hit Squad with Win and Top 20 prices:

  • Keegan Bradley :us: $95 / $3
  • Sahith Theegala :us: $75 / $3.10
  • Trey Mullinax :us: $141 / $3.80

And the details:

Keegan Bradley :us:

It’s been a challenging last month for Keegan with 3 MCs and 44th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. We’re going to blame a cold putter and some weak iron play for the drop-off in form. He’s currently #44 in the FedEx Cup Standings so needs a decent week to qualify (Top 30 go through) for next week’s Tour Championship. If he reverts to his averages for strokes gained then he should be knocking on the door of the Top 20, possibly even better.

$95

Sahith Theegala :us:

Theegala’s consistent season continued last week at the StJude, finishing 13th and he’s now #27 in the standings. Other than the 3M Open (late July) he hasn’t missed a Cut since the Players Championship back in March. That is a great run. He’s gained strokes Off The Tee consistently this season and that should help around Wilmington with several long holes to contend with.

$75

Trey Mullinax :us:

Trey must be really loving the game right now. He’s #40 in the FedEx standings which belies his lowly World ranking of 130. His last 4 tournaments read 1-31-37-5 with his win coming at the Barbasol, followed by the British Open. His 5th was last week at the St Jude. He has a strong all round game, and would be well fancying his chances of qualifying for next week.

$141
