The PGA Tour is back for the Fall Swing!

This time of the year you’ll find that the courses are set up for birdie-fests, which should be the case here this week in Mississippi for the SANDERSON FARMS CHAMPIONSHIP.

The fields are choc-full of rookies eager to quickly make a name for themselves. With loads of early-season points on offer, now is the time for them to dig in as most of the top players are now resting up until January. Come January there won’t be as many spots available in each tournament and the chase to qualify for the FedEx Playoffs will get much tougher.

We’re looking to some of the recent graduates from the Korn Ferry Tour to figure prominently this week and in upcoming weeks as well.

You can also check out The Golf Insider’s full preview of the tournament and his best-value bets right here.

Here’s our Hit Squad for this week:

Davis Thompson @ 81 :us:
MJ Daffue  @ 91 :flag-za:
Will Gordon @ 91 :us:
Stephan Jaeger @ 91 :de:

Davis Thompson

Won on the Korn Ferry Tour last season and he’s long and straight off the tee. Got his season off to a great start at the Fortinet finishing tied 9th and in the Top 20 for SG:PUTT (Strokes gained from putting). Driving and putting should be a great combination this week.

$81

MJ Daffue

Another big hitting, birdie machine! He finished last season with five T5s and was T31 at the US Open. In 22 starts last season he only missed three cuts, making the cut in both his PGA Tour starts. For our First Round Leader purposes, he has the 2nd best First Round scores of the KFT50 behind Taylor Montgomery, who is second-favourite this week.

$91

Will Gordon

Had a great finish to the season winning the Albertsons Boise Open as well four other top-5 finishes in his last 11 starts. He’s consistent across most statistical categories and like Daffue, has an excellent First Round rating. Made the cut here last year.

$91

Stephan Jaeger

Finally, Jaeger topped the graduating class of 2021 and then spent the 2022 season on the main tour. His best finish was 5th at the Rocket Mortgage and had 5 Top 20s. He’s moved between the two tours over the last several years but has managed to win five times on the Korn Ferry. Has made the cut here 3 times in his last 4 attempts.
