#7 Sandy Prince [$2.90] needed the run first-up at Caulfield. Can improve second-up here, has won second-up in the past.

#10 Saint Bathans [$6] is the unknown. He’s a kiwi galloper having his first start in Australia, so I couldn’t price him accurately. I’ve put him in my figures at the market price.

#18 Clap [$4.80] was terrific first-up for new trainer Tara Taggart at Sale, albeit on better ground. He’s handled the heavy ground in the past.

Pokerjack ran third beaten one length by Saturday Metro horses Philipsburg & Al Mah Haha under no pressure. The fourth horse, 3.3 lengths away, had just won 2 in a row. Last prep it was four-wide no cover first-up, then 4 & 5 wide no cover second-up, before a strong second at Moruya. Ran Second after a bad ride for us first-up, costing 18 units. Second again last start at Hawkesbury in very quick time, six lengths above standard with seven legnths back to 3rd. Won for us at Wyong. Last two starts again has gone far too quickly in front. Chance if can take a sit just off the speed.
