Last meeting (which was abandoned halfway through), the rail was at five metres. Expecting the inside five lanes to be the preferred ground. It’s never a disadvantage to be up on the pace when the rail is true and the track is in the good range.

Back to Randwick with the rail out six metres. Statistically – if it’s dry enough – most get their chance with this rail placement, however with a southerly forecast it could play to the inside a bit.
There’s rain forecast to fall this evening – how much they get and the effect it has will obviously be very important.

Going with a value play here. It’s really not a day for declaring good things, especially with the uncertainty over the weather. Stellar Pauline started a very short favourite against Hungry Heart in the Sweet Embrace in the autumn and was ridden a bit upside-down that day. She comes into this off a soft kill at Hawkesbury and while Hungry Heart is very promising and may be too good, I think this filly is worth a small play at good odds.
