Read on for AFL Round 10 early mail and betting leans for each game…
AFL Round 10: Carlton v Sydney, Friday night
Early prediction: Close
The value: Swans H2H $1.80 at TopSport
- Swans returned to form last week with a big win against the hapless Bombers
- The Blues are going well with three straight wins by 5+ goals
- Look for Sydney to make a statement here with a prime time win on the road
This week is Carlton’s first home Friday night match since Round 3, 2018.
(That’s unless you count the 5.40pm start in Perth against Hawthorn in 2020. I don’t.)
Big game is understating it. Against a good side in Sydney – top 4 credentials on the line.
Should be a HUGE crowd.

AFL Round 10: Geelong v Port Adelaide, Saturday afternoon

- Geelong’s second half against St Kilda was very poor
- After losing their first five, Port have won their last 4
- Port have won only 2 of 14 at Kardinia Park
Western Bulldogs v Gold Coast, Saturday afternoon
Early prediction: Close
The value: Suns +16.5 at TopSport

- Bulldogs form remains patchy
- Gold Coast were good against the Dogs at their only trip to Ballarat, in 2018
North Melbourne v Melbourne, Saturday afternoon
Early prediction: Melbourne by how far
The value: Melbourne -65.5 at TopSport
- This could get very ugly
- Melbourne keep clearing hurdles, while North keep stumbling
- Midfield clash looks like men versus boys
Adelaide v St Kilda, Saturday night
Early prediction: Close early before Saints kick away
The value: St Kilda -17.5 at TopSport
- Saints have lost captain Jack Steele for 2 months and Jack Higgins for 2 weeks
- Crows fell away in the second half against Brisbane last week
- Crows have lost their last three by an average of 48 points
Richmond vs Essendon, Saturday night
Early prediction: Tigers
The value: Richmond 1-39, $2.10 at TopSport
- Tiges have some good momentum with three straight comfortable wins and the return of Dusty Martin
- This week they take on a side they’ve beaten 11 straight times
- Expect some kind of response from a Bombers side that’s copped a media barrage this week
A potential jumper clash threatens to make Saturday night’s Dreamtime at the ’G a confusing spectacle after both Richmond and Essendon produced predominantly black strips for this year’s blockbuster. @agerealfooty https://t.co/zdKozkiPXZ

Early prediction: Lions comfortably
The value: Brisbane -20.5 at TopSport
- Brisbane look highly likely to record their sixth straight win
- Hawthorn’s promising start to the season has faded with four straight losses by an average of 4 goals
- This one’s at York Park (Launceston) but Brisbane are capable of doing enough to cover the line
Fremantle v Collingwood, Sunday afternoon
Early prediction: Fremantle easily
The value: Freo -25.5 at TopSport
- Big bounce back game for Freo at home
- Collingwood were very poor against the Bulldogs
- Collingwood are usually okay on the road, and have a 9-day break
