AFC North

While I do like that the Cincinnati Bengals improved their offensive line, I think they are going to take a step back as I am not sure their offense can replicate last season’s performance.

Give me Lamar Jackson, in a contract year, with a team that suffered badly from key injuries last season and still barely had a scoring deficit.

I know some folks like the Cleveland Browns here, but if Deshaun Watson plays after serving his suspension (and that’s a big if) he wouldn’t have played in almost two years… so sorry if I am not entirely buying the hype.

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin might be the best in the NFL, but he is going to need to be because his team looks terrible.

Tip Baltimore Ravens: $2.35 with TopSport

$2.35

AFC South

I think former Falcons QB Matt Ryan is going to make the Colts much more potent through the air, for at least this year. I also do not think Titans QB Ryan Tannehill is very good and that Tennessee will take a big step back.

While Jacksonville and Houston should be more competitive this season, I would expect both to be picking in the top 10 in late April – though I would not be completely shocked if the Jags take a big step up.

Tip Indianapolis Colts: $1.73 with TopSport

$1.73

AFC East

I think we are going to be surprised by the Pats in this division, but I believe in what the Bills are doing. While I worry about offensive co-ordinator Brian Daboll leaving, I think they have kept enough continuity to be successful again.

Dolphins and Pats are two teams I keep going back and forth on. I know there is a lot of noise coming from the New England camp about the offensive coordinators and I am worried, but I trust in legendary coach Bill Belichick.

We will see if Miami QB Tua Tagovailoa is is for real as he now has maybe the best wide receiver corp in the NFL. I think we will find him wanting as he is not an accurate QB and his arm isn’t the best. I have a feeling it is going to be a lot of short passes to Waddle, Hill and Wilson and hoping they break tackles.

The Jets will continue to suck and Robert Saleh is a sneaky chance to be the first coach fired.

Tip Buffalo Bills: $1.44 with TopSport

$1.44

AFC West

This is the best division in football and I love me some Justin Herbert. While I think Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL I worry what that offense will look like without wide receiver Tyreek Hill to take the top off defenses.

Vegas should be a good team and I love adding former Packers wide receiver Davante Adams.

Denver should be good but I honestly am not buying Russell Wilson stock as I am going to need to see him get back to the guy he was before the last 1.5 seasons. I know this is going to put me in a minority and not to sound too much like Bill Simmons, but “Are we sure Russell Wilson is still good?” We have seen over time that small guys get hurt and then their play falls off and never really comes back. He looked terrible last year and he hasn’t really used his legs in a couple years. Also the injury to WR Tim Patrick is a problem.

Tip LA Chargers: $3.20 with TopSport

$3.20

NFC North

I really like the Vikings this year and I believe getting away from former coach Mike Zimmer is going to give them a real shot in the arm. You doubt Aaron Rodgers at your own peril, but his WR group is not strong and he is saying as much publicly now.

There are things to like about both the Bears (Fields) and Lions (how hard they play), but overally they are both at real talent deficits.

Tip Minnesota Vikings: $3.65 with TopSport

$3.65

NFC South

As long as Brady stays healthy Tampa Bay should walk to the division title. Bu that is not a given. The thing with Brady is that he doesn’t like pressure up the middle since Pollard tore his knee up, Marpet retired, Cappa is with the Bengals and Jensen is done for the year. Adding offensive guard Shaq Mason is huge but there’s still something to watch here.

I think the Saints will be better than most people expect as I am a Jameis believer and their D should be top notch – might be a team we need to keep an eye on.

Carolina and Atlanta are going to be terrible.

Tip Tampa Bay Buccaneers: $1.34 with TopSport

$1.34

NFC East

I really went back and forth between the Cowboys and the Eagles. I think the Cowboys have taken a little bit of a step backwards in talent, no team has repeated as NFC Champs since 2004, and I am really concerned about the Cowboys offensive line and WR room.

That said Dak Prescott is a better quarterback than Jalen Hurts, the Eagles defense wasn’t good last year, and I expect the Eagles to have more struggles running the Oklahoma offense this year so while I do expect the Eagles to win the division it will be close. Both Dallas and Philly are getting six games each that they should win (2x NYG, 2x Washington, Jax, and Houston).

We have seen the Carson Wentz show and I am glad it is back in the division. Sorry Giants fans but Daniel Jones is not Josh Allen and your skills players are not good – yes you may get to eight wins but that’s because your schedule is easy.

Tip Philadelphia Eagles: $2.27 with TopSport

$2.27

NFC West

I think this division is wildly overrated.

We all know Seattle is going to suck (Geno Smith and Drew Lock aren’t good), but what about San Fran and the Cards? Well the 49ers seem to be all in on the idea of starting Trey Lance, and I might look silly in a few months time, but do we really think he is ready? I do NOT.

As for the Cardinals, they usually start hot then QB Kyler Murray gets injured and coach Kliff Kingsbury doesn’t change his system and their performance falls apart. I think that happens earlier this as this team has a hard early schedule and no DeAndre Hopkins.

Tip LA Rams: $2.17 with TopSport

$2.17
