Track It’s already a Heavy 8 early and there is more rain around, so I’m definitely playing the track in the heavy range.
Speed Cross Talk should lead with Ellsberg following. Hinged, Niamlee and War Eternal will sit behind the two leaders. Icebath sits off midfield and Top Ranked is back.

8 Hinged [$3.80] drops 5kg from last start in the George Main, which makes her a big chance if the track is really wet. Will be in front of her key rivals. Big chance.
5 Icebath [$4] ran very well last start, finishing second in the George Main, and gets JMac on. She may settle closer than last start.
1 Top Ranked [$4] put in a great run first up and will be fitter second-up here. Coming wide late may be a good play late in the day.
9 Cross Talk [$7] was off 30 days out last start and will be better here. He’s the leader here and will give them something to chase. He’s four wins from five starts on heavy tracks.
3 Ellsberg [$20] would need to run a peak figure in a Group 1 race to win this, which is a big ask. But he’s not a bad each-way chance.
4 Nimalee [$14] has a good figure in the wet at Randwick that could win this.
2 Converge [$21] has been rating down since his win in the Australian Guineas in March. He didn’t beat a horse home in the George Main and will need to improve.
7 Kiku [$26] would need it to be dry to be running her absolute best, I think.
6 Fangirl [$12] doesn’t get the conditions to suit here. I really have my doubts if the track is in the heavy range.
12 War Eternal [$31] is just a sneaky place chance
11 Pippali [$91] would surprise if she was able to figure here.
