Track It’s between a Good 4 and Soft 5 at the moment. There’s meant to be plenty of rain on Friday so it’ll get a bit softer. I’d say a Soft track, between a 5 and a 6.

Speed Alligator Blood will lead from Zaaki, with Anamoe sitting third. Benaud will go back to last.

7 Anamoe [$2.40] has had two runs back now with Group 1 wins in the Winx Stakes and the George Main. Should be ready to get near his peak now, third-up and out to this trip. Maps to get a good run too. Certainly the one to beat.

1 Zaaki [$4.60] was disappointing to the eye last start in the Underwood. He was outside the leader and wanted to lay in badly all the way up the straight. I don’t think he’s going near his best at the moment.

2 I’m Thunderstruck [$6.00] was explosive two starts back over 1600 metres in the Makybe Diva, then weakened late over 1800m in the Underwood. He steps to 2000 metres here which I thought was a negative – I’d prefer him back to the mile.

3 Alligator Blood [$6.00] is racing well and was very solid last start, winning the Underwood. He has to go a further 200 metres here but he looks to be able to dictate his own tempo in front.

5 Mo’unga [$12] returned to form in the Underwood last start with a strong second behind Alligator Blood. He can hold that rating here.

4 Mr Brightside [$16] was disappointing over 1800m in the Underwood. It’s hard to see him improving much off that run here, going up in trip.

8 Benaud [$26] is racing well and was good last start in Sydney, but finds it hard to win and will settle back here… so he’d have to pass a lot of very good horses to get to the line.

6 Nonconformist [$67] is going poorly and needs to get back into a handicap race.

No doubt over Anamoe being the one to beat. For a bit of value I think a small bet on Mo’unga is the way to go, he’s travelling well and was very good last time out. Alligator Blood is the other one running well and I would like to back it too.
