#3 Prophet’s Pride [$6.00] did her best work late last start and ran the best last 200m for the race (and the seventh best for the meeting). Won second-up last prep over 1200m in a similar class race. The extra 100m today will be good for her. Mallyon is in good form, his strike-rate and profit-on-turnover over his last 100 rides is better than his career average and sitting in positive PoT territory. Wide barriers at Gundagai are a positive. Should settle top 2/3.
#4 Salute Again [$4.40] did finish ahead of our winner Danang Star last start, but as we know Danang Star was looking for further and I think this horse will be looking for 1400m
#7 Redhair’n’freckles [$3.90] dominated last start but it was on a bog track and it has never won at further than 1000m.

On our latest podcast we have something very different. Combet is – to anybody’s knowledge – the first of it’s kind in the betting world. It’s an attempt to create a completely automated fixed-odds bookmaker. The punters set the odds (via auction), and then bet into the book with fluctuations controlled by algorithm.
The founder of Combet, Jake Howard, joins us to talk about it.
