Read on for NRL Round 22 early mail and value betting leans for each game…
NRL Round 22: Panthers v Storm, Thursday night
Early prediction: Panthers, just
The value: Draw at 80 minutes at TopSport
- The Panthers were very impressive against the Raiders last week and look set to welcome back Kikau, but lose Fisher-Harris.
- Storm welcome back Olam and Meaney, and look a lot stronger out wide with Coates back from injury and Nofoaluma on the wing.
- Very hard to split these teams, the home ground advantage might just be enough
NRL Round 22: Warriors v Bulldogs, Friday night
Early prediction: Warriors, just
The value: Warriors H2H at TopSport
- This week’s Warriors squad looks better after Coach Jones made a few bad selection decisions last weekend.
- The Bulldogs continue to play well, but the Cowboys showed last weekend that their defence is still a concern
- In NZ the Warriors typically put in a better effort
Eels v Souths, Friday night
Early prediction: Souths
The value: Souths -3.5 at TopSport
- This game is going to be epic: the winner should become second-favourite to win the competition.
- Souths are looking great, but the Eels are also finding some form – despite the absence of their star halfback.
- Souths to have too much momentum and the Eels will miss Moses in such a big match.
NRL Round 22: Roosters v Cowboys, Saturday afternoon
Early prediction: Roosters
The value: Roosters -3.5 at TopSport
- The Roosters forwards aimed up last weekend and bashed the Broncos into oblivion.
- The Cowboys once again showed they are the fittest team in the competition, coming over the top of the Bulldogs last weekend
- Roosters should be too good off the back of their classy outside backs
Wests v Cronulla Sharks, Saturday afternoon
Early prediction: Sharks by 8
The value: Tigers +13.5 at TopSport
- Wests were poor last weekend and clearly missed the role Hastings plays in the middle in attack.
- They are, however, still in decent form thanks to the leadership being shown by Doueihi
- The Sharks miss Tracey on the wing, which adds to their lack of cohesion out wide.
Broncos v Knights, Saturday night
Early prediction: Broncos
The value: Knights +18.5 at TopSport
- The Broncos have named a much stronger team this week, with Niu dropped after too many defensive failings and Lee back in the centres.
- The Knights welcome back Klemmer, but lose Clifford for Clune – so more disruption around the halves.
- The Broncos form has dropped off, but they can bounce back here for a win – just not big enough for the line.
NRL Round 22: Raiders v Dragons, Sunday afternoon
Early prediction: Raiders
The value: Raiders -5.5 at TopSport
- The Raiders lose not only Tapine and Cotric, but also for the first time in history, an NRL coach has been suspended with Ricky Stuart to miss the game.
- On the flipside they welcome back Savage and Horsburgh and are at home
- Although the Dragons put in a tough performance last week, they lack the class and Coach Griffin continues to change the line up with weird selections.
Titans v Manly, Sunday afternoon
Early prediction: Close!
The value: Titans +6.5 at TopSport
- The Titans have phases of looking good but just get let down by individuals not doing the job required.
- Fifita continues to collect his pay without really delivering, while Erin Clark is now back at 9 due to Booth being injured
- Manly were disappointing against the Eels last weekend at home and their season is close to being all but over – with the rainbow jersey fiasco seemingly being the cause of ongoing friction in the playing group.
