Sharks v Manly: NRL Round 7
Round 7 kicks off with Cronulla taking on Manly on Thursday at PointsBet Stadium.
The Sharks look much better with Nikora and Katoa back. But the loss of Hamlin Uele and Dale Finucane hurts. Against the Storm, their middle forwards were not getting the penetration they needed, with only Rudolph cracking the 100m mark in yardage.
Luckily for the Sharks, Manly will also be without some key big men in Taupau, Keppie and Aloiai. Although they have some decent depth to draw upon, that is a lot of go-forward that Manly will be missing. The Sharks break more tackles than any other team in the NRL and when Bullemor and De Luis get on the field, they will fancy their chances of going through the middle off the back of Hynes and Kennedy’s speed.
It is out wide where I think the Sharks really have an edge in the match. Ramien, Talakai, Mulitalo and Katoa are as dynamic as any outside backs in the competition and Manly has lacked a bit of punch out wide.
With the continued absence of Tommy T and Schuster, along with the forwards mentioned above, this Manly team is now missing a lot of talent and at home I think Sharks will be too strong in this one.
I think they could run away with it as Manly’s forwards tire. Earlier in the week members backed the Sharks -6.5… I’m happy with that bet so we’ll stick with that.
Predicted score: Sharks v Manly
Sharks 25
Manly 12
