Raiders v Bulldogs: NRL Round 9
Ricky Stuart has turned to some of his veterans with Croker, CNK, Frawley and Elliott all brought back into the first grade team for this one. Although I am usually a fan of giving young guys a go, the Raiders form has been so bad and they look so lost that they clearly need better leadership on the field.
And I like the look of the Raiders forward pack here, with an experienced group of forwards that should be willing to stand up in this must-win game encounter. I thought they were a little unlucky to lose to the Warriors last weekend. Not only did the Warriors only tie the game up due to a dodgy penalty, but the Raiders were the dominant team for most of the match.
The Raiders made more metres, more tackle breaks and more line breaks, all while missing less tackles. However once again, it was their shocking error count that ruined their chances to wrap up the game and allowed the Warriors to claw back into the match.
The Raiders and Bulldogs 19-man squads for tonight are confirmed.

Rapana made three errors, Cotric, Timoko, Savage and Schneider all made two each, while WIghton made one. So the starting backline made 12 errors between them! There is nothing else to say about this Raiders line up… they are simply not as skilful as they need to be to compete in the NRL.
As for the Doggies, their win against the Roosters last week was choc full of effort and was very similar to their Round 1 performance against the Cowboys, where they held onto a lead through some really tough defence. However, the Roosters failed to convert a ton of chances and one of the Doggies’ two tries was a long range intercept, so I still think the Bulldogs attack is extremely clunky.
Although the Bulldogs played tough footy to get the win last week, I think the Raiders will be too good at home.
Predicted score: Raiders v Bulldogs
Raiders 25
Bulldogs 18
